20 August 2026

The 34th Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing continued its captivating evenings with two distinctive performances on Thursday, 20 August, Al-Mahka Theatre welcomed oud player and Saad El Oud, followed by a unique musical dialogue between pianist Mohamed Fouad and violinist Ahmed Mounib.
Embracing his beloved oud, Saad El Oud presented a selection of celebrated melodies, creating an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere that quickly drew the audience into the performance. Festival-goers enthusiastically joined in, singing along to a number of the familiar tunes and turning the concert into a warm, shared musical celebration.
As part of his performance, Saad El Oud also paid tribute to the memory of two influential figures in Egyptian music, the late star Hany Shaker and renowned composer and musician Hany Shenouda, performing a carefully selected repertoire of their works.
The evening then took a different musical direction as Mohamed Fouad on piano and Ahmed Mounib on violin engaged in an original musical dialogue, bringing together the refined textures of Western classical music with the expressive character of Eastern musical traditions.
