Wust El Balad and Nesma Mahgoub at the Citadel Festival

On an exceptional night of the Citadel Festival, acclaimed singer Nesma Mahgoub delivered a spectacular concert on Monday, 17 August 2026, at the Citadel’s Mahka Theatre. She performed a selection of her own songs alongside Western compositions, showcasing the breadth and diversity of her musical repertoire.

The band Wust El Balad then took the stage, performing a selection of their signature works that have established them as a distinctive contemporary musical experience. Their concert was met with enthusiastic interaction from the audience.

In a much-appreciated musical surprise that generated tremendous audience excitement, the band invited Nesma Mahgoub to join them on stage for a performance of Ah Ya Lalali. They also welcomed popular singer Abdel Rahman Balala, who performed Meshwar with the band.
