Extraordinary Performance by Egyptian Violinist Amira Abouzahra at the Cairo Opera House

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Dagher, hosted the first concert of the Russian Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Denis Lotoev. With a massive attendance of classical music fans, the promising young Egyptian violinist Amira Abouzahra (the granddaughter of the esteemed artist Abdel Rahman Abouzahra) performed with exceptional talent for the first time in Egypt. Currently living in Vienna, she joined the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra in its tour to Egypt to perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Rageh Daoud’s “Musical Moments” accompanied by her sister, Maryam Abouzahra.

Displaying an extraordinary skill, the brilliant Maestro Denis Lotoev led the TSO, which includes a number of Russia’s best musicians, through Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” Suite delighting the audience with a blend of classic Western and Egyptian compositions.

The Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra is going to present two more concerts in Egypt. One is going to be held at the Main Hall with pianist Adam Gutseriev, on Monday, 6 November 2023. Then, another concert is going to be held at the Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” with cellist Dali Gutseriev, on Tuesday,7 November 2023.
