Spirits in the City Continues to Commemorate Umm Kuthum at Sayed Darwish Theatre

After the great public success in Cairo, the Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Zayed, decided to re-present “Umm Kulthum’s Annual Night of Honoring” presented by journalist Mahmoud El Tamimi, which is part of the “Spirits in the City” series and is a continuation of the cultural project “Preserving the National Memory” at the Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” on Wednesday, 22 January 2025 at 6 p.m.
Attended by the great artist Samira Abdel Aziz, Haitham Abu Zeid (researcher in the field of religious recitation and chanting) and Karim Gamal (author of “Umm Kulthum and the Years of War Effort”) the evening includes discussions exploring the rich legacy of the iconic Egyptian diva Umm Kulthum.
"Spirits in the City" series is a project that aims to preserve the national memory of Egyptians. It was launched by the "Cairo is My Address" cultural project two years ago in collaboration with various cultural entities.
