El Mawled El Nabawy Celebration in Alexandria and Damanhour

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is celebrating El Mawled El Nabawy (the birth of Prophet Mohamed) with two concerts by the Religious Song Ensemble at Alexandria Opera House “Sayed Darwish Theatre” on Thursday, 19 September 2024 at 8:30 p.m. and at Damanhour Opera House on Saturday, 21 September 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
Featuring the most beautiful spiritual hymns and chants praising Prophet Mohamed, the evening is concluded with the recitation of “Asmaa Allahu Al Husna” (the 99 glorified names of Allah) by Sheikh Sayed Makkawy.
The Religious Song Ensemble was established in 1972 by the late composer Abdel Halim Nowera to preserve the religious singing tradition and train young talents in religious singing and invocations. The Ensemble regularly performs at the various Cairo Opera House venues across Cairo, Alexandria, and Damietta.
