02 November 2026

As part of its Cinema Club evenings, in collaboration with the National Center for Cinema and within the framework of its cultural and intellectual activities, the Cairo Opera House screened the trilogy “The Road to God,” the final work of the late filmmaker and artist Shadi Abdel Salam. The screening took place at Damanhour Opera House on Monday, 2 November 2026, at 6:30 p.m.

Following the screening, a discussion panel was held featuring Dr. Ahmed Saleh, President of the National Center for Cinema, and cinematographer Mohsen Ahmed. The panel was moderated by film critic Ahmed Saad El-Din.

It is worth noting that “The Road to God” trilogy comprises three short documentary films, the first entitled “Al-Hesn” (The Fortress) and the second “Al-Dandaraweeya.” Both films are part of a cinematic project initiated by Shadi Abdel Salam in the mid-1970s, aimed at portraying Ancient Egypt through the art of cinema.
