Sufism and Modernity… Tarek Tourgane at the Citadel Festival

An exceptional evening was held on Friday, 21 August 2026, as part of the Citadel Festival for Music and Singing. At Mahka Theatre, before a huge audience, chanter Mahmoud El-Tohamy and musician Fathy Salama presented a new chapter of their artistic project, “Sufism and Modernity,” reaffirming the power of art to reinterpret and revitalize heritage.

Then, Tarek El Arabi Tourgane and his children, accompanied by the Sincop Orchestra conducted by Maestro George Qelteh, opened the door to a cherished childhood memory box. They took the audience on a nostalgic journey through the world of animated television series that have remained deeply connected to noble human values, innocence, and timeless stories.
