Religious Song Ensemble at Arab Music Institute

The Cairo Opera House, under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa Zayed, is hosting a concert by the Religious Song Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Omar Farahat at the Arab Music Institute on Thursday, 6 June 2024 at 8:30 p.m.
The concert’s program includes a collection of chants, supplications, and religious songs by prominent composers performed by Ahmed El Emary, Ahmed Hassan, Taha Hussein, Tamer Nagah, Mohamed El Beheiry, Ashraf Zidan, Samah Abbas, and Walaa Romeh.
The Religious Song Ensemble was established in 1972 by the late composer Abdel Halim Nowera to preserve the religious singing tradition and train young talents in religious singing and invocations. The Ensemble regularly performs at the various Cairo Opera House venues across Cairo, Alexandria, and Damietta.
