“The Music of Letters” Exhibition at Salah Taher Gallery

Dr. Khaled Dagher, Chairman of the Cairo Opera House, paid a visit to “The Music of Letters” Exhibition by Khalifa El-Shemi, held at Salah Taher Gallery. Employing “mixed media” technique, the exhibition showcases 60 Arabic calligraphy paintings that reflect the beauty of Arabic letters and scripts.
Dr. Dagher praised the artworks featured at the exhibition, highlighting the beauty that stems from the unique formations, symmetry, and variations of Arabic letters. He also applauded Khalifa El-Shemi’s harmonious color patterns and his ability to transform Arabic letters into exceptional artistic works.
Khalifa El-Shemy is a plastic art artist and calligrapher who studied Islamic architecture and Arabic calligraphy. He reaceived an ijazah (diploma of competency) in Arabic calligraphy from Arab calligraphy masters. El-Shemy has held several successful private exhibitions in addition to participating in important exhibitions in Egypt and the UAE. He is a member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, the Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation Association, the Syndicate of Arabic Calligraphy in Cairo.
