*Black Theama, Loay & Portuguese Band “Albaluna” at the Citadel Festival*

The 32nd edition of the Citadel Festival for Music and Singing, organized by the Cairo Opera House, continues with three distinguished concerts at Mahka Theatre on Saturday, 17 August 2024.
The evening commenced at 8 p.m. with a musical performance by Black Theama, famous for their distinctive style and a repertoire that has garnered them a large fan base.
At 9 p.m., the Portuguese band, “Albaluna” presents a sophisticated blend of traditional and contemporary music styles, interwoven with poetic recitations in Portuguese. Drawing inspiration from ancient cultures, particularly those of the Silk Road and the Mediterranean, the band employed traditional instruments from Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East. The audience was also treated to selections from their latest album, "ENNEAD."
The evening concludes at 10 p.m. with a performance by the celebrated Egyptian singer Loay and his ensemble. Loay delivered a selection of his most famous singles, along with music from television series and films that have significantly contributed to his artistic acclaim and widespread recognition.
